Regular Republican organization of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Article 1 NAME
The name of this organization, hereinafter referred to as the club, shall be the regular republican organization of Point Pleasant Beach. N.J.
Article 2 – PURPOSE
The purpose of this club shall be to promote the Republican party and its principles: to select and endorse Republican candidates and to apply all of its effort to secure their election to public office.
Article 3- MEMBERSHIP
- Section 1 – All registered voters who are residents of PPB who declare their intentions to support club endorsed republican candidates for public office shall be eligible for membership.
- Section 2 -Each member shall receive a copy of the Constitution and bylaws and a membership card.
- Section 3 – Nonresidents may be guest members but cannot vote or hold office.
Article 4 – OFFICERS
Officers of the club shall be President , First VP, second VP, recording secretary, corresponding secretary and Treasurer. Their duties shall be as prescribed in the bylaws. They shall be elected by the members of the club at the regular meeting to be held Nov of each year and installed at the annual meeting in December.
Article 5 – EXECUTIVE BOARD
The executive board of the club shall be comprised of the officer of the club as listed in article 4 of the constitution, one of the Republican members of the PPB borough council who is a member in good standing of the club and who is selected by a majority of the Republican borough council, the___14 Republican mayor of the Borough of PPB who is a member in good standing of the club and the municipal chairman.’
Article 6 – SCREENING COMMITTEES; ENDORSEMENT OF CANDIDATES
The president shall be responsible for appointing a screening committee to interview candidates for public office and submitting their names to the general membership p of the___14 club for their endorsement at which time any member may offer the name of a candidate from the floor. If there is more than one candidate for public office the voting shall be by secret ballot.
Article 7 – MEETINGS
Regular and special meetings of the club shall be held as specified in the bylaws.
Article 8 – ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Election of the club officers shall be held at the November regular meeting with the elected officer to succeed their predecessors at the December annual meeting. If there is more than one candidate for office the voting shall be by secret ballot.
Article 9- STANDING COMMITTEES
The duties of the standing committees shall be s prescribed in the bylaws. The standing committees shall be Membership , Program, Publicity, Ways and Means, Hospitality and Sunshine
Article 10- CAMPAIGN MANAGER AND TREASURER
A campaign manager or a campaign treasurer or both may be appointed by the executive boards in accordance with the bylaws.
Article 11- AMENDMENTS
This constitution may be amended at the regular business meeting at which the president o the first or second vice president ad at least nineteen additional members of the club are present upon 30 days prior notice to the entire membership by a two thirds majority vote of toe preset. Any amendments to this constitution shall be mailed to all members of the club upon the adoption thereof.
Article 12- CONTSITUTION
This constitution replies to a previous constitution of either the Men’s Regular Republican Organization of PPN , NJ or the Woman’s republican club of PPB NJ
